CORE RUGBY proposes a training process that allows the players to learn the appropriate PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND TACTICAL tools in order to build a high level adaptative game.
CORE RUGBY Coaching principles
1- Use opposition 2- Give the priority to open play 3- Show and analyse the reasons of success or errors in the actions of the attack and the reactions of the defense It is the temporary positioning of the defence which conditions the decision of the attackers and vice –versa 4- Whole-Part-Whole: identify the problem in general play and remedy through specific drills. 5- Incorporate systematically Pilates exercises and principles to the session in order to help the player integrate faster the mental, tactical and physical interconnection of the session.
Pilates Edge Pilates enables through mind-body awareness to gain insight into the inseparable connection between the physical and psychological components of athletic performance. Rugby players can take their performance to a higher level thru Pilates by training their minds in addition to their bodies. CORE RUGBY incorporates systematically Pilates exercises in collective field sessions. Players start to think about their body and its function differently. In particular, they start thinking about their ‘center’ or the ‘core’. Ultimately they find that they transfer that knowledge into technical and mental skills – often subconsciously. They will find that they have more power, better concentration, coordination and precision. They are better equipped mentally and physically to maintain their skills level throughout the whole game, ensuring correct decision making and better continuity in the game, capable to executive a high-level type of adaptative game
